Hey, it is really okay to have an unprofitable portfolio
Don’t beat yourself up too hard
In this post, we will not give you stock tips. We will not give you more education or more lecture that you should do your own research and yada yada. We are here to give you some consolation and some comfort.
Having an unprofitable investment sucks
It really does. Often it is scary and even painful to see our money down the drain. So much so that we do not want to open up our investment app anymore. We simply do not want to talk about it to other people.
If you feel this way, do you know that you are not alone? We have had conversations with countless of people regarding their investment portfolio. On the outside, they are tough as a nut. On the inside, they feel awful.
Even more difficult when you are surrounded with “investment wizards” out there on social media. On the surface, you only find that people share their victories. Their top performing stocks and how they managed to pull off a very good investment decision. That makes them look incredibly smart and it makes you look really stupid.
But that is okay…
Just know that you do not have a full picture of what is actually going on to their portfolio. You don’t know if they are actually making money. A simple truthful question can be: is that person making money from their investment? If so, how much money? Are they incredibly rich now beyond means?
You are not alone
But hey, this post is about you, not them. After this post, you might want to look at your portfolio again, or not. That is fine. All you need to take home is: you are not alone.
Incredibly many people share the same feelings as you and we hope that you will get better next time 🙂
If you’d like to share your story with us, you are more than welcome.
